The California Theme Team has been created to assist in the planning and execution of mission-based programming around the Association theme: Education as the Gateway to Woman’s Economic Security.

The Theme Team is your contact for programming information and support between AAUW and California branches. Invite Theme Team members to your next function; they will bring a PowerPoint presentation that will revitalize your branch with new program possibilities.

The Association has a new mission statement!

The Association and the AAUW Educational Foundation now share a single mission statement:

AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.

2007-08 Branch Officer Reports are due June 15

Get your branch listed in the AAUW CA directory by submitting the branch officer report by June 15. Visit the AAUW CA Branch Officer Reporting page to download the form. E-mail the completed form to the AAUW CA office.

AAUW of California Endorses Alicia Hetman

Attendees at the AAUW CA convention in late April passed a resolution endorsing Alicia Hetman for a position on the AAUW Educational Foundation Board of Directors as an at-large representative. The election will take place at the Association convention, June 29-July 2, 2007, Phoenix, AZ.

Eleanor Roosevelt Fund swells at convention

AAUW CA convention attendees contributed $3,900 to the Eleanor Roosevelt Fund. One more time, Jo Harberson matched donations, so that the fund actually earned $7,800 in that one weekend [April 27-29, 2007]!

Proposed AAUW CA Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation are approved at convention

Following lively and passionate discussion by delegates, the proposed AAUW CA Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation were adopted at business session 2 of the AAUW CA convention on April 28. The documents become effective July 1, 2008.
